Event Cinemas Newcastle Showgirl 2017

The showgirl competition aims to find a young woman to act as an ambassador for Newcastle and rural NSW. Her role involves official and informal duties at the 2017 Newcastle Regional Show and associated events.

The contestants are judged on personality, confidence, ambition and life goals, general knowledge, rural knowledge, presentation and speech.

It is not a beauty pageant.

Finalists are also asked to demonstrate knowledge of their local community and current affairs.

Apart from their potential ambassadorial qualities, contestants are also judged on their involvement in, and experience of, rural and local affairs.

For our 2017 Event Cinemas Newcastle Showgirl, we are looking for….

  • Someone with a friendly personality, who will be able to mingle with people attending the show and meet official guests
  • A confident person who will be able to place sashes on event winners, such as strong wild goats, gigantic bulls, gorgeous miniature horses, cute and cuddly Maltese terriers and beefy woodchoppers
  • She must be able to talk clearly while wearing funny earphones as she is being interviewed
  • She should have good deportment to allow her to competently get in and out of dodgem cars and assorted ride cages for photo shoots, and
  • This person will be an ambassador for the show and our representative at zone finals and, if successful, the state final at The Land Sydney Royal Showgirl Competition.

Entries for Event Cinemas Newcastle Showgirl 2017 close February 27th,  at 5pm.
